The event, led in October in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), addressed VET policy makers and practitioners including representatives from institutes that provide continuous professional development (CPD) for VET managers, teachers and trainers.

The meeting was an important opportunity for stakeholders in order to:

  • learning from good practices and latest developments in VET provision at international level,
  • promoting a systemic and systematic approach to quality assurance in VET,
  • reflecting upon and discuss the relevance of apprenticeship and work-based learning for Central Asian countries,
  • exploring international trends in career guidance and reflect on strategies to improve its provision,
  • discussing options which address gaps between CPD provision and CPD demands,
  • identifying measures to strengthen the relevance and quality of CPD provided by different actors (national, international, private, public).

Participants and contributors came from Austria, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Portugal, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the European Training Foundation (ETF).
